I'm aware that I'm hard on shoes but I've liked Altamas right out of the box. These shoes came with the speed-lace/sinch lace system like some other brands have. I was excited for that aspect until one of them broke before wearing the shoes even a month. For me, breaking a regular lace is no big deal but these type of laces are so integrated it was a pain to swap it out with a regular lace, not to mention if you're meant to pull on them to tighten the shoe, why would it not be strong enough to last more than 30 days? I just can't really recommend these shoes if components are so weak as to break that quickly.

Been rocking these since my I finally got rid of my maritime Mid Altamas (after 5 years of abuse) and was looking for something different. Absolutely pleased and love the shoes the same. They take abuse and are comfortable all day long!
