Sophisticated Mumu
I lost my mind when this pattern was released but I was also very pregnant. Chelsea was nice enough to field multiple questions about the rise from me before I decided it was best to wait until after baby arrived to make one. Happily my pre and post baby measurements fit into the large size so I am confident this will serve me well through the wild ride that is postpartum body changes. My first jumpsuit was made out of Merchant and Mills 4 oz. denim chambray. The only modification I made was to lengthen the rise 3/4" front and back. Y'all. This is the one jumpsuit to rule them all for me. It is so comfortable yet feels very sophisticated to swan around in. By itself it gives strong mumu vibes but add the sash it all comes together into one very pleasing outfit. I have two small quibbles. One, the keyhole back creates major bra strap peak. I ended up inserting an invisible zip into my jumpsuit to eliminate this problem and make it a little easier to access the tatas to feed the baby. Two, the instructions for all gathering stitches within the small seam allowance are silly. I get much nicer gathers with three rows, two of which are usually outside the seam allowance. But this is why we should make muslins right? Quibbles aside, I love this jumpsuit. I have two more planned in some outrageous Liberty Tana Lawn.

Favourite jumpsuit hands down
The jumpsuit was a nice sew. The hardest part for me was getting that keyhole looking non-amateurish and not puckered. The jumpsuit turned out looking so great I immediately bought more fabric to sew another one. About sizing - this is definitely generously sized so it’s easy to go smaller. I made it in a poplin and found that cinching in the waist with a belt changed it from looking too big to oversized. I am already an XS so couldn’t size down, but if in between sizes I think it wouldn’t be a problem to size down.

A new favourite make
I really enjoyed making this jumpsuit - I learned a lot along the way, but also came away with a make that is a new favourite. The process of sewing it up was smooth, and just involved enough to be interesting but not so much that it was at all stressful. I made it out of a soft, fluid cotton and it's incredibly comfortable, but also feels very chic to put on. Have a few more planned!
