NOPE! This is an absolutely FANTASTIC little instrument!! Right out of the box (after tuning of course!) the ukulele has a *sweet*, clear, and beautiful tone! It is the PERFECT Ukulele to tote around from place to place for everything from playing to accompany your friend on his ocarina to outdoors in a park, enjoying some wonderful weather as you strum. Love this little guy!!

This is my first ukulele, so I'm no expert. I bought it on a whim. But I was pleasantly surprised how beautiful it is for the price! It is a good, darkish brown (not quite as dark as the picture) with the teeny-tiniest touch of red (it's not at all cherry, though). It looks great with all the dark wood furniture in my room. I love it. I strummed it too, of course, and it sounds really great! Since I don't own a songbook, I can't say much more than that. But I highly recommend this thing; it's a bright spot in my life!!
