Soothing sound

Let me preface by saying that despite some issues, I do like this little instrument, and it's been fun to play once I got used to its little quirks. Great for improvising. For the price, it was definitely worth the purchase. The sound on this ocarina is surprisingly smooth, the only thing I've had a problem with is that the high note can be very airy or prone to screeching if the exact right pressure isn't applied. Once you get used to it, it becomes less of an issue. It feels good in the hands, and is easy to maneuver my fingers on (my carpal tunnel doesn't hate me when I play it). It looks nice, and they accommodated my glaze request; however, it did come with a few chips in the glaze and the mouthpiece feels rough in comparison to the rest of the ocarina which is not necessarily an issue, I just wasn't expecting it.

Looks beautiful and sounds beautiful although I was expecting to get a blue glazed one as in the photo. I received a different coloured one with a rough surface that my fingers don’t really like, this was my fault though I should have read the ‘note’ detailing that the exact finish you receive may by default be chosen at random and if you have any particular colour preference to indicate that in the notes section during checkout.

Precious instrument, divine sound!

I used to play the flute many years ago and wanted to pick up a wind instrument again, but one that allows me to improvise and play intuitively. This is my first ocarina.
