I’ve wanted this ocarina since I was 12 I am 29 now. I’m no professional player but I love the sound of it so much. It’s literally my most prized possession.

Beautiful, inimitable tone; hard to tune tho

For tone alone I’m rating 5 stars. These ocarinas mean business. Nonetheless, this porcelain soprano in C has been the first challenge for me. Due to its composition, it is much slower to warm than other ocarinas. That said, take your time in warmup, really tighten that embouchure, and try to “sense the capacity” of the flute. How much air are you blowing? Is it overpowering the small vessel? Ocarina is all about sensing the resistance of the instrument and working through that to make the appropriate sound for each register of the vessel. This porcelain one creates quite a bit of low range resistance and VERY little in the upper range, so watch out for blaring high notes and try and master your breath control. An unforgiving and no doubt professional piece, this porcelain ocarina will give anyone a run for their money! Especially when tuning to other instruments! Yikes! Really tough to tune. Truly.
