Never thought I would be at this level of pro sound but man, I thank God for this device, use it in my in ear mix, I use to on the plane, in car, made a nice case to protect it and honestly, just like chat GPT said “ITS A MONSTER” haha thankyou guysfor such a great product! Good sound with the base model (ESS DAC), but magic sound with Sparkos OpAmps

I now own two XD05 units. The first has ESS DAC / stock OpAmps and sounds reasonably balanced, but is lacking in subtlety and micro-dynamics. This sound signature can describe many DACs / DAPs since most companies want to not alienate users when they listen to most recordings which have varying levels of distortion. I chose to not limit my listening enjoyment of the good/great recordings just to avoid bad sound on the rest of them. So I purchased a 2nd unit and had the Elise team install the Sparkos OpAmps so I can perform an easy before/after comparison many times over with lots of different music styles and quality. The result is that the Sparkos OpAmps do all this DAC to reveal much more in the music......bad is bad, but the good recordings now sound much better and a significant amount of subtlety is now available, producing a much more involving sound. Happy customer, and it was worth the $$$ to upgrade given my preferred sound signature. Plus the Elise team was very prompt in the installation and shipment processes, and I received the upgraded unit well before I expected it. Good show Elise. Will gladly entertain another purchase if/when the need arises.
