Best portable DAC/AMP, overshadowed by its bigger brother.

The xd05 plus 2 help with details and soundstage, makes my headphones come to life, with 1200mW is more than enough for most headphones. It quite versatile with the 3 gain modes (labeled “turbo” in the unit) it drives high impedance headphones and IEMs with ease, though I was able to hear hiss with sensitive IEMs. For me it replaces my FiiO BTR5 and my Ifi XCan. The only thing missing is a balanced output. It hasn’t received much attention because of its bigger brother the xd05 pro; but, this unit is an absolute winner at more than half the price.
