Just what I was looking for
The build quality, ease of use, and aesthetics are excellent. I carry two A6 notebooks in it — yes, technically there’s room for more, but I personally only need to carry two notebooks — and a couple of pens. There are also several convenient pockets, though I haven’t figured out what to use them for yet. Again, they just haven’t been useful for my needs, but that doesn’t mean they’re useless or inconvenient.

Folio is as advertised but it is limited in use as a field notebook cover
The quality of the folio is good, nothing to complain about with regards to quality. Pros: - The elastic bands to hold the notebooks in place are great. - The built-in cloth bookmarks are also nice. - The strap on the spine of the cover is nice for holding in your hand, and for accessing the cover - Nice pocket space. - Great material Cons: - There is considerable space between the edge of the A6 notebook and the edge of the cover, which feels like wasted space, even when taking into account space for up to writing instrument. - The width of the cover makes it less suitable in the back pocket for many different pant designs. Jeans are generally ok. - The seam on the edge of the cover when combined with the zipper uses about 3/8" of space which is valuable space when considering pocket notebooks. There are other minor cons for the notebook which I don't think are fair to list as cons for the product itself, since they are clearly advertised; but there are cons for my specific use case. I was basically scouring the internet for something to fit into a back-pocket with a pen holder that would span the length of the cover so it wouldn't get snagged taking it in and out of the back pocket. Lochby designs the folio to accommodate the A6 size, but most notebooks are narrower than true A6, the result is more empty space inside the folio. Because of the seam on the edge of the cover and the zipper, another 3/8 of an inch cannot be used to accommodate the notebooks or the signatures. I think ultimately I would have wanted: - A pen holder on the spine, or in the front of the cover, which runs the whole length of the pen, so it doesn't get snagged putting it into the back pocket and also does not use space intended to protect the notebook or signatures. - The zipper on this folio while is does provide some protection from water zipping it an unzipping it is cumbersome for purposes of a field notebook cover. Lochby did have other covers without the zipper, but they had a latch instead, which would have been less cumbersome, but really wasn't required. In retrospect I don't think I want a zipper or a latch, because the back pocket itself acts as the closing mechanism for the cover. - Rather than having a handle along the length or the spine, I would have preferred finger sized holes I would use to grab the cover while in the back pocket which then when opening the hand, the cover would open so it could be ready to write with.

Love!!
Love my A6 field folio! I was looking for a cover that was roomy but could also take a beating in my bag, and I've definitely found the one. This is my first lochby but most certainly not my last! Love tge design, the color, and how sturdy yet practical this is.
