Bolt Action Pen

Totally functional for the 21st-century, I’ve already tried about 18 different types of refills.” i’m a free hand, graphic ink+pen=art illustrator. I use bold ink pen refills, medium, extra fine, micro fine in different colors, from different ink pan makers, all using the same big idea bolt action pen.

short answer is, I like it, but the refill compatibility is not as universal as the Ti Arto EDC. I 3D printed a ring to make more refills work with the pen but that kind of defeats the point of no mod refill compatibility. However, that very satisfying click on the bolt action makes the trade off acceptable. Would I buy it again if I were to lose this one? Probably not, but I do enjoy using it.

This has quickly become my favorite hand held instrument

This review is for the copper pen, specifically. I chose this variant because of the weight; I really wanted to feel the substance of it in my hand. I'm currently running for Congress in the the United States, so to say I write a lot is a profound understatement. This pen is gorgeous, in design, manufacture, and feel in the hand! Paired with a Pentel Energel insert, it goes everywhere with me and has become my EDC overnight. Now I just need a couple more for my writing desk and strategy table.
