The mesh has weird sizing

I tore my ACL and MCL skiing. I was given a size L BREG neoprene long brace in the ER and it fit and worked great. I tried to switch to the mesh for the warming temperatures because I had to delay surgery. The mesh has a completely different knee opening size / construction than the neoprene and it is very uncomfortable. I found it impossible to get the right size in the mesh. Medium was too small and large was too large. I ended up just getting another neoprene. The Velcro on these does wear out eventually, I have been in a brace 24 hours a day for 7 weeks. The loops just break over time after taking them on and off multiple times a day to change, do PT etc.
