Durston Gear Kakwa 40
Light, simple, and surprisingly capable. The Kakwa 40 hits a sweet spot between ultralight and real load-carrying comfort. The frame actually works, transferring weight to the hips, so carrying around 8–12 kg still feels stable on long hikes.
The Ultra fabric is tough and weather-resistant, and the pocket layout is practical for quick access on the move. It’s clearly designed by someone who hikes a lot.
Downsides? It’s not for heavy loads, and the minimal design means no fancy organization—pack smart or struggle.
👉 Verdict: A great choice for ultralight hikers and fastpackers who know how to pack efficiently.

It’s still early days, but the pack has been outstanding on the two hikes I’ve done since I received it. Looking forward to many more!
