I had never tried the asafoetida before and I was inspired by watching Chef Rick Stein's documentary on India where it is a very pervasive spice. That said I dont feel it had the pungent kick that was described by him on the show when he used it for a vegetable curry. I myself only used it for a potato dish. I did enjoy the earthy slightly garlic flavor. I will continue to experiment and keep in my spice arsenal. Thank you, World of Spice

I needed it for a recipe. I looked around for a while and couldn't find it locally. Then I said to duh! World Spice! I haven't used it yet because now I can't remember what the recipe was that I wanted it for. But now I've got it when it comes back into my brain.
