Fellow Ode Brew Grinder Gen 2

Soooo much quitter than my last grinder. I like the variety of grind selections. Hope to enjoy it for years.

Fellow makes dreams come true. And this second generation of the Ode grinder is just that- a dream come true. They got everything right, and then they decided to go the extra mile. They have raised the bar so ridiculously high for grinders in this category. It really is unparalleled. And it is simply stunning to look at.

I bought the Ode Gen 2 a month ago specifically for morning French Press. Our previous grinder produced so many fines that our coffee was sludgy. Muddy. It was like drinking poorly prepared Turkish coffee. The Ode 2 is very consistent. I noticed a difference in the texture and flavor of my coffee immediately. Coffee tastes bolder, richer, more clear. Fines are not completely gone, but they are so few that there is just a small spot in the bottom of my 15oz mug. I use a small brush to remove any residue in the mouth of the chute. I do this because I am very particular, and because I don't want the potential of any coffee building up in the chute. As you can see from the photo, I brushed out so little coffee that it can't even be measured (except perhaps with a serious scientific scale). As reviews will tell you - this is not for espresso or any coffee type requiring a fine grind. However, I highly recommend the Ode G2 for anyone doing pour overs, French Press, cold brew, etc.. Easy to use, delicious and pleasing results.
