I brought this bag with me during two years of work in Ukraine, where it served as my 'go bag', hiking pack, and even work bag on bad weather days. As such, I can attest to the versatility of this bag- while it has all the function and durability you'd want from a rugged outdoors pack, it really doesn't look out of place in a big city either. It holds a ton, and I found the exterior pockets really useful- for me, I kept a headlamp in there, amongst other things, for easy access during blackouts. The rolltop feature is super useful for me as well, in addition to just making the bag look vintage and cool- you can roll it down and the bag looks quite small (not like you're walking around with a huge pack in an urban setting), or you can extend it and it fits a huge amount/you can fit a rolled blanket in there. This was useful to me as some shelters got pretty cold, and I'm thinking that if you are living in a zone where you might need to evacuate (like due to wildfire or storm) this might be a very useful feature for you too. All in all, I can tell you that this bag has proved its worth time and time again, and it's gotten me through some pretty interesting situations! The quality from Frost River is unparalleled, makes me proud to see high quality American craft like this. If you're on the fence, don't hesitate- this bag will get you through it all, and then some

Great anywhere pack!

I bought this bag for my husband and her absolutely loves it. He likes the size a feel of the bag, I bought the larger size. It fits on him nicely(6’ 185 lbs) and the brass fittings feel so reliable! Well done to all at Frost River.

Same great quality I'm accustomed to from Frost River

This is the 3rd pack I've gotten from Frost River. I wanted a pack to replace my daily commuter/work pack. I love the rugged look and quality of Frost Rivers packs. It's slightly smaller then my current pack, a little heavier, and lacks the extra pockets and compartments but I can adapt to that. I'll take the added durability and looks over all that. Having the ability to reduce the size using the roll-top (when carrying less) is also great. I look forward to using this pack for a long time as I'm sure this will outlast every other work pack I've owned.
