I opted to buy the base plate and top cap as I already have a few handles. This is my first exposure to AC shaving. I'm impressed. I have been using Schick blades. I find the V3 to not be as aggressive as the Wunderbar but more efficient. It took a few shaves to get it right. I was trying too hard at first. I've found I can get a really good shave on a single pass with a new blade. Four shaves in and the blade calms down a bit but is extremely smooth. I only add passes when required. I've had no irritation using this razor. The head is fairly compact and fits under the nose well.
