"Big Yellow" Huang Da Cha Yellow Tea

New to Yellow Teas

This was the first yellow tea I have tried, and I found it to be very enjoyable. It is certainly distinct to a green or black tea, and there is for sure a similar roastiness to hojicha, but has a bit of a wider flavor profile than just pure roastiness. There is some sweetness, and I guess "cacao" type notes. There is some dried grains or corn or something in the taste too. I would classify this as a more static tea... The flavor doesn't change too much with subsequent brews, but its a nice mellow flavor.

A Favorite

This is my comfort tea. Roasty and malty and sweet and smooth. I’ve tried other yellow teas but this is my favorite.

this tea is very warming, definitely reminiscent of hojicha. highly recommend to coffee lovers
