Chenpi (Aged Orange Peel) Shou Pu’er Tea Resin

The first time I used this tea, I was not super impressed. I was expecting some orange notes and did not find them. However, the second time I used shorter steeps, and enjoyed it much more. Still barely found any orange notes though.

One of my favourites, for sure. The resin is fun to use, easy to carry, and the taste is excellent every time. I love that it is a light and very gently fruity in a very different way that pretty much any other teas I tried are. And it is appreciated that it works for boiling water as well as for lower temperatures and removes the stress of remembering what temperature/duration gives the best result for a particular tea and having to arrange that temperature.

My go-to everyday tea. Easy drinking. Not like the real stuff but it does have the essence of chen pi. The outcome of this tea depends on the water you have. Pure clean water is best (duh). And 185f is perfect for this tablet. I use 8-10 oz of water per tablet because I like that tea energy buzzin'. A lil funk on the front and citrus on the back end. Again, there are tradeoffs with this tea. You don't get full taste and body like you would by drinking actual tea leaves steeped in hot agua... 8/10
