Schacht Sidekick

My husband was fascinated by the Sidekick design since he first saw it and insisted that I order this little wheel for my birthday. Like all things Schacht, orders take a bit and this one was delayed even longer due to pandemic closures. However, it was a joyous day when it finally arrived. Assembly was simple and straightforward and spinning is delightful - it really is a brilliant design. It treadles nicely; the only thing that took some getting used to was a bit of noise associated with the travel (plastic) bobbins. Mine was missing a threading hook, which Schacht resolved quickly. I had seen a couple of reviews that said that the wheel was less stable because of the design, but this thing is rock-solid. I was hesitant to get this wheel as I already have a (much-loved) Lendrum. However, it has added a new dimension to spinning specifically for weaving projects - it’s just plain fun. Paradise Fibers kept me updated on the order status - while the delay was sad it was unavoidable. The timing of my purchase was influenced by a killer sale ($100 off!), which was awesome. I love being able to support great companies like Paradise Fibers and Schacht - both companies offer extraordinary products and support.
