Frida Shirt Workshop

Great workshop and shirt!

I had previously purchased The Art of Shirt Making Workshop and made 3 over shirts which I obviously love. I decided to try the Frida workshop and was equally happy. I maybe did not need the workshop but enjoyed Heddy’s instruction and the format of the cideo. Next up will be the Trousers!

Elevated my sewing

This tutorial has literally changed my sewing. I had developed quite sloppy habits but following the instructions to the letter showed me the way to improve. Every step was clearly shown and there was a great sense of satisfaction when the yoke turned out beautifully. In fact the shirt is the best thing I’ve ever made; it looks really professional. Being neat and precise really does make a difference to the finish. I loved the pattern as it resembles a shirt I once had and had looked for years to replace. I’ve now made six (!) including in linen, Liberty wool and a jacket version in cord. My only small gripe would be that it might be better for Hetty to wear a contrasting coloured shirt to help distinguish some of the finer details of the process.

Great project for confident beginners

The video tutorial is very clear and helpful. It was my first shirt with sleeves and I'm so pleased with the finished product! I love Hettie's calm demeanour and she teaches at a manageable pace, with lots of great tips and the process doesn't feel overwhelming. It helps to have a handle of the basics (watch the Getting Started Videos first) before diving in to the workshop.
