Today’s cup was Devoción – La Divina brewed in a French press, and she absolutely lived up to her name.
Recipe:
• French Press
• 1:16.5 ratio
• Rancilio grinder set to 50
• 45-second bloom
• 4-minute steep
From the first breath, the aroma opened like a conversation. Nutty warmth took center stage, while honey and flashes of citrus—orange, tangerine, soft brightness—kept stepping in and out of the spotlight. The nose alone felt alive.
Then the sip…
Honey arrived first, coating the tongue with a smooth sweetness that felt natural and elegant. Beneath it came roasted nuttiness, steady and grounding. Then came the silk: cocoa butter richness gliding through the cup with a soft, luxurious texture.
The body was medium and beautifully polished—silky, round, comforting. Just enough citrus appeared in the background to keep everything lifted and balanced.
And the finish? That’s where this coffee quietly won me over.
Honey and cocoa butter slowly took the handoff, mellowing the palate and easing you out of the sip so gently that all you wanted was another one.
Some coffees impress loudly.
This one charms slowly.
La Divina doesn’t shout. She lingers. ☕✨
