⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding Customer Service & The Best Underwear I've Found
I rarely write product reviews, but Krakatoa has genuinely earned one.
The first thing that stood out wasn't even the underwear~it was the customer service. Alex provided a level of support that was truly exceptional. I've never experienced this kind of personal attention from any company before. He patiently answered every question, helped me understand the differences between the styles, and made sure I found the right fit for my needs. That alone deserves five stars.
I tried both the Vesuvius Trunks and the Thongs. Initially, I felt the fabric was a little snug due to the elastane content. However, after washing them once and wearing them for a couple of days, they relaxed slightly and became noticeably more comfortable. If you're trying them for the first time, I'd recommend giving them a little time before making a final judgment.
One tip I discovered: when putting them on, position the pouch seam snugly against the perineum before adjusting yourself into the pouch. That simple adjustment made a significant difference in how naturally and comfortably everything fit.
For my particular lifestyle, I work outdoors in extreme heat, and my upper thighs rub together when I'm sweating. Because of that, I found that the trunks and thongs weren't the ideal choice for long workdays—they simply don't provide enough fabric between my thighs to prevent chafing.
The 5-inch boxer briefs, however, solved that problem perfectly. They give me the support I was looking for while also preventing thigh friction. For my anatomy and daily work, they've become the clear winner.
Before finding Krakatoa, I also tried underwear from Ares and Shinesty. Unfortunately, neither came close to fitting my anatomy as comfortably. Krakatoa has been the only brand I've found that truly delivers the support, pouch design, and overall comfort I was searching for.
