Cropped tops and gym shorts

Had no idea what fold over elastic is and found I couldn’t buy it where I live once I knew what it was. I live in Australia and have now ordered online fold over elastic. I found the sizing hard to follow and quite small despite cutting to children’s measurements. Instructions easiest enough to follow . I cut a pair of shorts according to my own measurements in correct stretch material and again too small . Obviously a favourite pattern of others so will try again and hope for a better fit!
