August crop of Joi Choi
When my husband harvests his garlic, I like to seed quick growing plants into that plot which I’ll yield a harvest before frost. This oriental green did not disappoint. Seeded in the third week of July, even with our extreme temperatures this year and our smoke filled valleys, my crop of Joi Choi grew in 3-4 weeks I harvested a few 9-10” plants for my stir fry on August 18th. Crisp, tender and delicious.
