Plain Jane Shoes 14.5" Doll Clothes Pattern

Plain Jane’s - 14 1/2” size

I’ve made these shoes for the 18” doll several times, but I’ll admit I was a little nervous about making this smaller size! No worries, though … these were just as easy and turned out just as nice as the bigger shoes. The sewing of the uppers is the only area the size was a little more difficult - they are tiny! Fit is just right … loose enough that they’re easy to put on, but not so loose that they fall off the doll’s foot. I’ll definitely be trying these in a vinyl next.

I’ve made Janes and Plain Janes for the 18” doll but now I needed to make white vinyl clinic shoes for the smaller doll, who is a veterinarian. I learned a few things from the tutorial included in the pattern that made the work go more smoothly. I also learned about the low temperature glue gun. Thanks! That makes fine work less painful.

I thought that this is pattern was a bit confusing in the way the instructions were laid out, but after a couple of read throughs i sussed it out. I made the shoes and I thought they turned out well but they slipped off quite easily so I made a strap to go over the ankle and put snaps on it to fasten it , quite fiddly but very pleased with the result.
