The Tusq saddle banks are perfect for my acoustic guitars with an abundance of overtones and bringing the vintage wooden sound out of the instruments. This material is similar to old ivory in tonal qualities and perhaps better.

Deceptive

This material is easily worked with hand tools. It appears soft and flexible, but is quite tough, and transmits sound as well as bone or other brittle/fragile saddle would. Glad I tried it.
