The best way to fix a 1970's adjustable saddle
I restore and sell a lot of vintage musical instruments for a living, and that means I come into quite a few 1970's acoustic guitars with adjustable saddles. What a terrible idea! As soon as the saddle is raised, it loses all contact with the top of the guitar, and all string vibration is transferred through two screw posts. I find these to be a tone killer. So, out comes the adjustable saddle (it is just under 1/4" wide) and in goes a properly shaped, intonated and compensated GraphTech saddle. The tone is restored, string vibration to the top is excellent, and the guitar comes to life in a way that it never did before. Now, that instrument is ready to become someone else's pride and joy.

Saved my 12 String!
This saddle was a perfect fit for my old Fender 12 String. I had lost the adjustable saddle and thought I was sunk. The saddle was easy to file and I am very very pleased with the results. My guitar sounds better than it ever did.

The bester of the bestest!!!
The right stuff! Just perfect with all this room for a perfect intonation on my baritone and mini baritone —and all my other more standard instruments.
