Audeze LCD-2 Classic Headphones

Let me start off by saying that the LCD-2 Classics are absolutely amazing. My current rotation of headphones are the Hifiman Ananda's, Hifiman 4XX, Focal Elex, and the HD 650. I bought these and I was initially a little nervous to receive them after reading so much into them, I was thinking these are were going to be very tonally dark and just not right. That wasn't the case at all, after wearing these and going back to my other headphones, I absolutely love these things. The tuning on these at first I felt was wonky, but after getting used to it I find it to be really good, the layers to the bass and the amazing texture these give is astonishing. In comparison to my Ananda's and 4XX they have nice slam but these just are in a different league, you can hear the lowest of bass with no muddiness. The sound that comes from these are just so lush and cozy but without sacrificing detail, I have no idea if I have some one off freaky good drivers in here but these are not like people have been saying, the bass is articulate and the highs are not ear piercing, while the mids shine with the vocals. I'm really happy I tried these on a whim, they scratch everything I wanted from another flavor of headphone and these will probably be the first thing I reach for after a long day, unwinding to these is just an amazing experience. From the unboxing experience, the packaging, to the headphones themselves it's built with such high quality; it blows away the Hifiman experience. I love my other flavors of planar but these take the cake of being my favorite, the soundstage isn't as large as the Ananda's but the intimacy these provide and the way these drivers can produce sound is really larger than life feeling sometimes. I love these things, give them a try and if you do I hope you have the same experience as I do. If you want a lush hug with music, these are the headphones for you.

After experiencing some QC issues with the Hifiman XS I wanted to go with something a bit more bullet proof and while these aren't as wide sounding, they are excellent casual listening cans for the price. Built like a tank as well. Super sturdy and I hear Audeze has great customer service. Regarding the weight that is constantly mentioned, these are a bit on the chunky side. They have some heft to them which can wear on you and it begins to do so on me after 3 hours or so but that's plenty of time for me. Overall they are great and I love them!

A beautiful sounding, non fatiguing work of art. Only complaint I have about the sound is that it could stand to be a little punchier, at least to my ears. As far as build and comfort, I can’t complain, these are bang perfect.
