Is this really the wheat beer yeast that you want?
I'm giving this yeast a 5-star rating because it worked as advertised, fermenting quickly and without causing any drama like having the kreusen plugging the airlock and having the lid blowing off the fermenter (which has happened to me with past weizen fermentations using other yeasts --- Wyeast 3638, or maybe 3068). However, this yeast blend will NOT produce a wheat beer with a strong Bavarian hefeweizen flavor like an Andechser, Schneider or Paulaner. Instead, the blend produces a hint of flavors that reminds me of Spaten hefeweizen. So, I found the description of this yeast to be completely accurate, and if the described flavor is what you want, then this is a 5-star beer. If you want to make a beer with more classic Bavarian hefeweizen "character", then I think that this is a 1-star beer to be avoided.

It made a wonderful Weizenbock
I used Wyeast 3056 Bavarian Wheat Blend Yeast to make a tasty Weizenbock. It did it's job of converting the wheat malt sugars into alcohol. I recommend.
