The dry leaves have a sweet, almost chocolate, smell that is commonly found in the Yunnan black teas on this site. There is also a small hint of floral and honey notes. The wet leaves have a more pronounced sweet honey-floral scent, but lose most of the chocolate notes. The liquor produced is very smooth and fairly thick. It's worth noting that this tea should be paired with good water and adequate time to focus on the experience. I would not suggest it for a daily drinker due to the price and the fact that appreciation of this tea demands focusing on smell more than anything. The optional caddy is roughly the size of a baseball and uses a mesh cloth to ensure a good seal. The colors match the picture, and it was crafted well. Overall this tea is a good deal for the price and can tolerate brewing with a heavy hand better than many other Dan Congs. Suggested brew (80ml gaiwan, 3g leaves) 190F - 25s 30s 40s 60s
