A mainstay spice in my kitchen
I use Sumac almost daily, so I order this by the pound. It adds a citrus flavor if a person doesn't have inclination to add lemon juice on something. Add it at the end, don't cook with it I've been told.
When I use it, as a primary spice, I include powdered/granulated onion for sure to add a more rounder sweet taste. I'll add various amounts of black pepper, dulse or sea salt, cayenne pepper, garlic. This seasoning mixture works with steamed potatoes, or sliced raw vegies (crudite)
