FC310 Violin case

I am very happy to use my new Violin case FC310 from Fiddlerman. It arrived safely to my residence by UPS. Now I am able to take my Violin safely and also the sheet music . The Violin case is so nicely made and Im so happy to go to concerts with my new case. This gives me a lot of happiness and confidence. The interior, exterior and the handles, locks are all well fitted. I have recommended this to many of my friends and students. Once again a Big Thankyou to the Fiddlerman Violin Shop.

Nice case

Smooth process. I could have sworn I ordered a red or green one (as 2 people I play with have black ones) but a black one arrived. I’ve fixed it with several bumper stickers. I could easily have checked the wrong box.

Not good

I was excited to buy this based off of the reviews but was quickly disappointed. Im gonna go ahead and start with the pros: It looks very nice, and the internal storage are good and I like the chinrest holder. That’s it. I really don’t have a lot more good to say about this case. I’m not one to leave negative reviews unless it’s really deserving of one. The BIGGEST gripe I have about this case is that the the music pouch on the bottom of the case is NOT removable! Apparently it was at one point but now they’re permanently attached. So you CANNOT lay this case down flat to open it! It literally just rocks around like a boat on the water. How ridiculous is that? I have to remove my fiddle with the case sitting lopsided and hope nothing falls out. And I can’t even lay my fiddle in it between uses with the case open without strapping it down. They should have at least increased the height of the feet to compensate for the bulkiness of the pouch. My next gripe is the feet on the side of the case. They’re not big or sturdy enough to support the case. I should be able to grab the case by the handle and set it down in level ground without it tipping over. I don’t think it stays upright even half of the time! One slight hint of a breeze and this thing is tipping over! Also the rubber gasket that goes around the edges to seal the two halves has started to peel off and I haven’t even had this a year yet. I have one more issue with this case, but it’s not necessarily a design flaw. But that is that the material is SUPER slippery! If you lay this case down, don’t expect it to stay in place. It will slip and glide around like it’s covered in grease. I’m not knocking it too much on that because it is after all a fiberglass case so it’s to be expected. But with everything else, it’s just one more case thing that annoys me about this case. This case had potential, but just not well executed. Too many design flaws and obvious cost cutting corners cut. I wouldn’t complain as much if this were half the price, but I expect much more at this price point. I would recommend this if you don’t travel much. But for musicians like me who are are touring professionals, steer clear. Please at the very LEAST make the music pouch removable again.
