Make sure you insert it the right side up! You’ll know if it’s backwards because the portafilter won’t engage. This gasket seals perfectly, has absolutely no leakage, and lasts forever. I bought this one for a new Profitec machine because I had one in my previous machine for ten years, and it still looked and worked like brand new!
