Chord Hugo 2 Portable DAC & Headphone Amplifier - Open Box

I bought this DAC solely for the purpose of pairing it with my EE Odins. The pairing did not disappoint, and while music sounds great via usb, I noticed I enjoyed the sound of this DAC much more via its optical and coax connections. Using this DAC can feel cumbersome, but its sound quality is THAT good, at least with the Odins, that I’m willing to deal with it. I do miss the mojo 2, and I could see myself buying it despite owning the Hugo. Their sound signatures are that different, and looking back, I’d probably buy a mojo instead. But the Odin is king in my collection, so I took the splurge in the name of synergy. The rest of my cans can pair with something else. One missed opportunity: this DAC transforms all of my IEMs, literally all of them, but the volume wheel is way too powerful for them at times. Changing the volume is so enjoyable, but I could barely do it with products that pair so well with this thing! First world problems aside, I’m pretty happy with this thing. It’s given my collection a new sense of excitement. I can’t wait to hear it again.
