Adult wings - a challenging but fun make

I’ve made three pairs of child-sized wings but this was my first attempt at the Angel wings - and in the youth/adult size. Choosing the right fabrics from my scraps took a while but is just the kind of task I love to do. I made a silly mistake in cutting out and removed the wing tips from the outer fabric… so a little bodge was necessary. The instructions are clear though. I wasn’t concentrating! The trickiest thing was manipulating the stiffened wings through the machine to appliqué the decorative feathers. On the second pair I decided to sew down one side of the feather and then backstitch to finish and sew the other side in the same direction - this made it a bit easier. I love the finished wings! They’ll be perfect for an event at our local folk festival looking for the sacred in the ordinary😇

Definitely worth going all out for Halloween with this pattern and making your own. Throughly recommend this pattern and it’s clear instructions. Go wild with your fabric accents, it’s worth it!
