One of the three wing bundle patterns.
When I saw that Twig and Tale had a sale with the three wing bundle I jumped at the chance to get a few of them. I bought the dragonfly, monarch butterfly and dragon wings patterns. My oldest grandson is 4 and when I've looked at Twig and Tale on occasions that he has been with me he always liked both the dragon and dragonfly wings. I made the dragonfly wings, just make sure that you read the instructions a couple of times before you cut anything out. I read them once, then cut out the material, then put the iron on interfacing on. They still worked out, but probably would have been easier if I put the interfacing on the material then cut it out. Like I said, they turned out fine. My choice of material was a bit difficult to sew. I used some leftover material from a costume I made his Dad in highschool, and I bought a small amount of material that is shiny and has what looks like scales. Very hard to see when doing the applique. At first my grandson didn't want the body of the dragonfly, but changed his mind a few days later. So completed it today. I used the batting that is used for bags that I saw someone suggested, well, my machine didn't like it all the time, and the centre seam was difficult to hand crank with a computerised machine. But all worked out in the end. Very informative instructions.

Easier wings and come out great!
These are easier to make than the butterfly wings because there’s less appliqués. It still looks stunning and is a great gender neutral option. My son adores them and loves being a dragonfly. The pattern is well written and if you follow the steps it comes out amazing.

A bit of a twist
I chose this pattern as it was the closest to what I wanted to achieve. Instead of going straightforward I modified the wings to give them another part in order to get it as close to the very hungry caterpillar‘butterfly’ as I could. It was great as it allowed a body to be attached to bring it even closer together. Thank you so much for another amazing pattern with beautiful detail.
