Weeds Suppressed!
First time using a cover crop. I planted them in August under freshly distributed compost and I was very impressed with how effortlessly fast they germinated and choked out the weeds in my garden bed. I had to trim foliage back from the onions because they were shading them out at 3' tall and still growing (its December)!
I tried planting them beside the house with much less success. That section is far less fertile and mostly protected from rain. I didn't use compost and next year if I do it again in that location, I'll be more mindful about amending it properly.

First try
Planted these probably a bit late but they sprouted well and are growing densely, Don't kn ow, yet, how well they loosen soil or transport nutrients but it's looking good so far. Plan to use a lot more in the future.

Fast Sprouting
Im using these as tillage crop. I low cut and surface tilled a section of my property, then broadcast these seeds. They sprouted quickly and uniformly. After the initial growth, they seem pretty resistant to intermittent rain or dry conditions.
