Can't say enough about this Heirloom Cross. These are superior to either parent - Cherokee or Carbon...and definitely superior to Hybrid purples such as Darkstar. Here is why - Has every bit of the savory heirloom taste......they arrive early for a big tomatoe and go and go..very productive. Much fewer defects (catface, cracking) than parents although later in season you will see cracking. Hint- These naturally have green shoulders even when ripe...dont leave on vine too long else they may crck.

Today ‘s Harvest
Today’s harvest July 23, 2025. Cherokee Carbon. Grown from seed purchased from #Territorial Seed. I am in zone 10b at 2500 ft elevation. Seeds were started on February 20th and transplanted into ground on May 3rd.
Beautiful large uniform fruit with a dusky purple hue. The flavor tastes like Summer! Very prolific. Will plant again next year!

sturdy vines
Of course it's up to the weather but I am impressed with a much earlier fruit set than we usually get for large tomatoes here an hor north of Seattle. Growing most in big pots so we can pull them into the greenhouse in September but, we may start getting a good crop in early August so we are excited.
