48 days. Buttercrunch is similar to other bibb types but with thick, puckered, juicy green leaves and a small tight head. You'll appreciate Buttercrunch maintaining its sweetness during summer’s heat without turning bitter.

Great germination and tasty greens
The thick leaves of this lettuce gives it a wonderful flavor and toothyness. This is one green that you don’t find at your local grocery store, unless you are very lucky.
Well worth the space in the garden. Don’t crowd them. Four to a one foot square is as tight as I go.
I start seeds indoors in Feb, staggering plantings every two weeks, four plants at a time. Start putting them out in mid March, weather dependent. Start harvesting mid to late April.
Once I harvest, I follow up with direct sowing in the same spot, adding a bit of compost.
They can take some heat, but I’m in 8b, PNW, so we don’t get that hot here. It’s usually done sometime in July.
This year, I think I’ll try some fall plantings.
Careful regarding slugs. They like them, too.

Butterlicious!
I sowed my seeds about a month ago and they germinate quick with no issues. It's growing beautifully and I can't wait to try some 😋

So far, so good
Sowed a bit late. Germination has been successful so far.
