Huehuetenango
This is a consistent, high quality green coffe from Guatemala that I have in my regular rotation for my small coffee roasting business. I usually roast to right around 187 degrees for a nice medium roast in the Aillio Bullet. The mild, citrus acidic flavor is a hit with my regulars!

New Hobby
New to home roasting and just trying things out. I was looking for organic with less of a fruity taste and in the medium to dark roast realm and this seems to meet the bill. Excited to get better at roasting and enjoying this more and more. The beans are quite smaller than the whole beans from my most recent Starbucks house blend bag but I like the flavor loads more personally.

Coffee? Or Hot Chocolate?
I’m new to coffee roasting, so not a lot of experience here. My 18th roast, 227 grams of Huehuetenango, was done on 4/6/25 in my Cafemasy roaster and came out 193 grams at 20 minutes for 14. 9% loss, or Full City. I followed that up with a 228 gram batch that came out 190 grams at 20 minutes for 16. 6% loss, or French. I blended the two, and waited 72 hours to brew. I thought I had a cup of silky hot chocolate! When FRC offered its Earth Day Sale for (I think) 20% off I rushed to order 7 pounds more. It arrived promptly (with free shipping) to boot. I have roasted 2 pounds more, all to Full City, and have not gotten the chocolate note again. Next time I’ll go for French and see.
