fit and functional

The pants fit as expected and true to size. I wish that they would taper a bit more at the bottom as I am usually take more of a slim fit, but the fact that this allows room for layering makes up for the loose fit. Overall, the pants function above and beyond my expectations. They are bug proof, withhold moisture in the rain and damp spring conditions, are durable while remaining flexible.

Half-zip Guide pants

I love the pants- they're very comfortable, well-constructed, and great looking- just like the snow pants I bought from Wintergreen about 20 years ago! My ONLY (minor) complaint is similar to another review I read- about not having some kind of strap at the bottoms of the legs to draw them tight. My old pants that I mentioned have this feature- a velcro strap on each leg. Thank you to CC, who cut the pants, Deirdre who sewed them, and Kassie who inspected them!

Expensive for what you get

Hubby loved them other than the fact that they were not lined like his previous pair. Much to his dismay, he ripped the old pair apart at the hip and lamented that he just wrecked his favorite pants. I bought him what I thought was a replacement… Please bring back the original lined version. He decided to keep these because he loved the first pair so much. He did say that these would have been an improvement over the first pair had they been lined. It was my fault for making the lined assumption.
