When I was pregnant I found out my ferritin (iron) levels were suboptimal. I did some investigating and read that prenatal vitamins should not have both calcium and iron because calcium inhibits the absorption of iron. I was taking a very highly rated prenatal vitamin at the time and couldn’t believe such a well known brand would formulate their product like that. I decided to switch to Needed, which has a separate iron supplement from their regular prenatal and my ferritin levels rose from 25 to 73. This is a brand I know I can trust in pregnancy and beyond for baby and me.
