Galion Discovery Monoblocks Power Amplifier (Sold in pairs)

Big sound

I have had the Discovery Mono blocks for two weeks and my Magnepan LRS+ speakers have never sounded better. I use a Freya+ tube pre-amp and I would describe the sound I get as "luscious". Full, rich, big, detailed, holographic and deeply dark. At lower volumes the detail and beauty are still there at higher volumes it consumes you. Think a really good Dutch dark chocolate with an espresso. Complex and big. They need to be heard to be appreciated. Wow. The units are big and heavy but they run cool. Each unit weighs 44 lbs. so they need a support that can hold them but they look like quality amps they are. Thomas has done a real service to the hi-fi community with these affordable amplifiers.

So far, I’m very impressed. The amps are as advertised…powerful, open, and airy, and they driving my magnepans with ease. There was a shipping issue, and I called and spoke with Thomas directly. This man really went out of his way to make me happy, and I was thrilled with that.
