Galion P400 power cables
Recently switch out power cables for the Galion Discovery Mono blocks and was pleasantly surprised. The cables not only look great, but they also increased the dynamics and the low end of the amps. If you are looking to upgrade power cables I would definitely try out the Galion P400 cables.

High value power cord.
I seek super high value audio gear. Galion definitely falls into this category. Among power cords, I have some from Shunyata Research, Triode Wire Labs, and Decware. I bought a P400 power cord to compare to the front runner, which is the Decware. Both cords are silver plated and sound similar in that they allow high levels of resolution and detail retrieval while sounding smooth and refined without the slightest bit of harshness or glare. They both also present a large three dimensional soundstage with plenty of air and space around instruments. However, I have to give the nod to the P400 as it does all of those things better than the Decware (which has been discontinued). The P400 also has slightly better texture and great tonality. I still like the Decware very much, but the P400 is now the best sounding and highest value power cord I have heard to date. Nice job, Thomas!

The P400 works exactly as dicribed.
Coming from an engineering background I was very skeptical that replacing a few feet of power cable could make any difference in the sound of my audio system. Well wasn’t I surprised with the results, to start with the packaging is basic but elegant and well done. The P400 cable is very nice looking and looks well-made, I would even say luxurious. Once I connected the power cable to the TS A20 Power Amp the difference was immediate. The biggest difference was in the Treble with more air, and slightly more decay. The biggest difference was a bump in the Treble at about 15-17 KHZ. I would say a bump of 4-6 dBs at medium listening levels with a 6-8 dBs at higher levels which makes tinkling bells stand out more and also creates a more 3D image almost like tinkling sounds jumping out at you. The bump in the Treble was measured using a DB meter on my phone. I didn’t believe the difference at first, so I went back to the stock cable and saved my measurements and then put the P400 in again and compared the results using the same song and volume level. So yes, a very measurable difference in the Treble. As for as the rest of the audio spectrum there was a subtle difference in the bass and midrange, I could tell that there was more instrument separation with a little more darkness between the instruments. There was also a slightly more forwardness in the voices which gives a more 3D affect top to bottom, with slightly more glow about the music. The micro dynamics is more detailed and noticeable giving a livelier soundstage. Also, I would say that the sound stage is slightly deeper with the voices being more forward. I am very pleased with the results I am getting. Also, after listening to the P400 cable differences for a day I then added the P100 cable to the Navy Pre-Amp and that difference was much less noticeable. First the P100 is using the same packaging as the P400, which is well done packaging. But the cable is much more basic looking compared to the P400 but the P100 does look industrial and well-made and should last for many years. As far as the sound maybe there is just a touch more darkness in the background and between the instruments. Maybe a little more 3D affects and glow. But the difference with the P100 was very slight which is what I would expect from just changing a power cable. It was not recommended to use a silver coated cable on the Navy Pre-Amp, which is already voiced very clear and transparent, slightly forward which is why I used the P100 (An all-copper cable). But if I had of used a P400 on the Navy I’m sure the difference would have been more noticeable but not as pleasing. Needless to say, that I am very pleased with the results of using more exotic power cables over the stock throw away cables. The results really surprised me, and I am enjoying the differences every day. Thank you Thomas for making quality products at affordable prices so that us mere mortals can take part in and find enjoyment in this hobby.
