Blackland “Alu-Bird” — Batch 003 (Nickel) Batch 003 brings classic Blackbird geometry to a very agile, lightweight platform. The nickel finish feels smooth and clean; edges are crisp—low drag and a quieter, “drier” audio than steel/titanium. On skin it’s precise and surprisingly forgiving because of the low inertia. Consistent BBS in 2–3 passes, even around chin and neck. Strengths Featherweight handling → quick, low-fatigue shaves Pinpoint angle feedback—easy to stay “locked in” When the finish is even, glide is excellent Notes Blade feel can seem a touch more present (less mass) but stays well-mannered Less acoustic feedback than heavier Birds Finish can vary slightly by batch—dry thoroughly and care for it Bottom line: The Alu-Bird is the sportiest, most playful Blackbird—tons of fun with serious efficiency.

Delighted with Workshop #3. Would be a great travel razor, reflecting the undoubted pedigree from its big brother stainless steel Blackbird, with added agility but without the weight.

I already love the effectiveness of my Blackbird! Because of the lighter weight of my Titan version, it was already a smoother and more nimble experience. So the Titan with the normal plate became my daily driver. The Lite plate is too smooth for me and I love the Bladefeel of the normal one, but this is subjective. The aluminium version now seems to be my perfect match! It has the characteristics of the Blackbird but is more nimble. Adapting the pressure during the shave gives it a wide range from smooth to effective! The opportunity to be part of a test lot is really appreciated on my side and gives me the feeling of being a part of the community.
