New Wash Deep Clean

Confusing and expensive…

I was excited to try your products because of your commitment to sustainability, but my experience as a new customer has been more frustrating than I expected. After only three orders, I’ve received four reusable bottles and three scalp massaging brushes. While I appreciate the free items, it feels at odds with the goal of reducing waste. Giving returning customers the option to opt in or out of complimentary accessories would better support your sustainability mission. The transition to detergent-free shampoo has also been expensive and confusing. I’ve spent well over $200 across three orders, and my hair is only now beginning to adjust. A more affordable 8-week transition kit—including enough product for the full adjustment period, a full-size (8 oz.) pre-wash, and a simple guide with realistic expectations, usage tips, and troubleshooting—would make the process much more approachable for new customers. Finally, I don’t think the 30-day trial reflects the reality of the transition. If it often takes closer to 60 days for hair to adjust, it’s difficult to fairly evaluate the products within the return window, especially when customers are also responsible for return shipping. I believe in what your company is trying to accomplish, and I hope you’ll consider making the transition more affordable, more straightforward, and more customer-friendly. I think those changes would help more people stick with the process and become loyal customers.

I really wanted to like this. The pre wash seems to work well but even as the deep clean version my hair was greasy by the next day. I rinsed forever to make sure there was none left in my hair. The first day it felt great but one sleep on it and my roots were so greasy.

I really want to like this product.

I really want to like this product - because I love the concept and the goal. And it's possible that I will get my head around it. But right now, suffering from limp and very oily hair, I'm having to wash my hair every day. And washing with Hairstory takes that little bit longer. You need to give it a proper deep scrub, and rise for far longer than you would normally. The advice is to stick at it for 6 weeks - but I've pressed pause after 2 weeks to return to my normal shampoo. My already fine hair was looking so flat and limp once dried - so I was finding it hard to justify spending the extra time in the shower. I still have another 3-4 weeks supply, so I think I'll give it another go - but time it for when life is feeling less rushed!
