Give it a wax.
The 2 panners were new and unused when the 2 tubs of Reproofing wax arrived. I followed instructions, except he tin went on top of an oil heater-it's Winter here-and the wax was soft enough to apply. It went well, I have used them in the rain; the wax worked!

Solid bag
This is a very solid bag, and so far has done great at keeping my cargo secure and dry. I ended up also getting the bagman expedition quick release attachment that makes it smooth to quickly remove the bag to bring with you if you have to leave your bike locked up outside. The only thing I wish was a little different is the strap system on the side pockets. The current ones are a little hard to unbuckle, and it would be nice to have more a of snap system to get into a little easier.

Re-proofing wax for cotton duck bags
During the recent very hot spell, left my super'c' and other Carradice bags in full sun, along with the tin of wax, until the bags were warm and the wax liquid, in that state very quick to apply - not too much, small amounts, at a time working well into the fabric and seams - lint free rag !, once all done I again left the bags in the sun to 'cook' , brilliant not only waterproof again but the look is also refreshed, apparently you can use a hairdryer to warm the bags and hot water for the wax tin... I shall certainly repeat when the stsrt to be less waterproof..
