Loved this pattern!

This dress is exactly what I was looking for. It was clear, and easy to sew. I really liked using the pattern, and love the dress. I plan to make it again, several times. I am an experienced sewist, and think that there is a level of sewing experience assumed in these instructions. That being said, I highly recommend it!

I bought this pattern for the top part of the dress and I was surprised of how accurate it is. I made an evening blouse from a plain black taffeta fabric. One of taffeta fabric's most notable attributes is its shape retention. Many other thin fabrics tend to lose their shape as they are worn, but taffeta's starched texture makes it possible to shape this fabric into a number of different forms that don't deform or become distorted over the course of an evening and with the balka pattern it was perfection. Obviously I made it longer than the pattern’s measurements.
