ORIGINAL CHIMICHURRI

I had been looking forward to receiving these two jars of chimichurri. I made steaks and invited my children over for dinner, excited for all of us to try it. I opened the first jar and spooned it over the steaks. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. I really wanted to like it, so I gave it two more chances, but each time it tasted extremely sour and overly salty. Before anyone else added it to their steak, I asked my children to taste it first. We all agreed that it didn’t taste like authentic chimichurri at all. Instead, it tasted more like vinegar with herbs. We love chimichurri and are very familiar with what it should taste like, so this was surprising. Perhaps I was just unlucky and received a bad batch, but based on my experience, I can’t recommend it. I ended up spending about $30 on two jars that we couldn’t enjoy.

Delicious! I got this chimichurri when I was visiting my in laws in Williamsburg at the Christmas market. It was so delicious we bought a bottle to fly back home to Florida with. We finally finished it and I had to order another one. It’s perfect to put on an Italian sandwich!
