Balanced, Enchanting, and Comforting

Much like Erin Morgenstern's book, this tea is unique and interestingly balanced. I enjoy a good smoky tea, and would still recommend this one to folks who aren't as big fans, since the other flavors still stand out and shine - especially the citrus. This is such a good blend to curl up with in the afternoon/early evening, especially if you are reading or crafting. I had been expecting more honey than citrus, based on the book and the vibe that I had, but I was not disappointed with the tea itself. I enjoy best with a splash of milk and a little sweetener.

This one grew on me after a few variations. It felt obligatory to have it with honey first. But I found that raw sugar brought out the flavor a little better. Even better with an added dash of milk. While I’m not typically a fan of smoky teas, this one has enough depth to carry and complement the smokiness. The citrus notes are especially lovely. It heartens to earl grey while being more layered and complex—which I love in black teas. It also suits the novel perfectly, unlocking all the hidden doors of flavor. ;)

Starless Sea Tea

Bought as a gift for my fiancé’s birthday. She has been recommending the book to everyone under the Sun, and she’s a big tea drinker so it was the perfect choice! She and I both enjoyed a cup on the morning of her birthday and we both enjoyed it thoroughly. While not as sweet as I was expecting, it was a wonderful blend of flavors. The tea has a smokey flavor to it, which I find usually overpowers a cup of tea when present. However, that smokiness was very mellow and added plenty of flavor while still letting the other ingredients shine. Would recommend!
