What a fun rod! It was my first time on the water today with it and caught Brookies ranging from 6-12”. I actually appreciated the slower action handling the larger ones as the additional cushion seemed to act like a “drag” when they made a run versus hitting a wall. I could see it being a little tougher on anything 16” or bigger or in tighter streams but not unmanageable. The rod was very easy to cast and I used weightless kebari, a regular beadhead, and a #12 tungsten. Tungsten aren’t a lot of fun to cast on anything to me but it managed it fine; I am sure #14–#16 would be more enjoyable. If you are on the fence like I was with it being slower in action, fear not.

Great rod lots of flex and plenty of reach with a slower action I would use # 3 or #3.5 level line with a 6-7 lbs breaking strength but 5lbs breaking strength is good as well , 4x-5x tippet

love the rod ,takes alittle time to get used to .
